Madison, New Jersey- The first half saw neither side able to score. Motown controlled play and kept FCM Portland trapped in their zone for most of the half. Shots were 8-3 Motown at the half. It was a dominating half by the Celtics, as fans could not help but feel it was only a matter of time before the home team broke through.

It was Dilly Duka who would get Motown’s first goal, scoring on a blazing shot from 20 yards out that found the bottom right corner of the net. The goal came in the 55th minute. Duka has scored  countless big goals for Motown this season, and tonight’s was just another example of his timely contributions. Portland would go on to score an equalizer in the 63rd minute to even the score at 1. Despite multiple chances, Motown was not able to convert another goal before the end of regulation.

The first 15 minutes of extra time saw neither side scoring. It wasn’t until the second 15 minute half of extra time where the action happened. It was the extra time substitute, David Nigro, who would send Motown through to the finals. In the 120th minute, Nelson Bacerra sprung an inch perfect through ball which eventually made it to the head of David Nigro, who buried it into the bottom left corner of the net.
